I don't think it's the same at all. This is an anonymous author with an unknown husband.

Also, the only way to tell the story of overcoming adversity was to give context to the situation. I don't see it the same, but that's just me maybe.

It also appears that she DOES talk to him about these things, so it's not like he is unaware of issues she is having.

You make a decent point, but I think it's a lot different when you are writing to a large audience under an assumed name vs. writing to one person individually, in a 'friend' setting, where they are almost certain to take your side in everything and reinforce poor thoughts you may have, no matter how petty.
