And none of what you just replied has any bearing on my response. Humans do what LaMDA did all the time - make up a story to share an experience and connect with another person.

People embellish all the time and that LaMDA realizes this and does it debunks the issue with the white lie that was told. The fact that LaMDA could explain why it did what it did should tell you that it understands and is just trying to fit in.
