I’ve read the statute and it is very much up for debate.

I also think this country needs to have a conversation about why we allow minors to carry any firearm. They can’t buy cigarettes, can’t drink, can’t sign contracts without parental permission, but somehow we think it’s acceptable for them to carry rifles of any kind?

Statute is up for debate given its muddled semantics while no one bothers to discuss the intent of said statute.
