Jokes aside, this self-loathing is a product of living in a country that, for the most part, views black people (particularly black men) as subhuman or inferior.

Reminds of me of the experiment with the children asked to play with the dolls and pick which one they thought was pretty.

It's pretty dehumanizing stuff and I hope for the sake of humanity that the US finally pulls itself out of this 'blame the other' for all problems, but I'm starting to think we'll end up having another Civil War as white supremacists flail about trying to maintain their oppressive status.
