Lol, you should have clarified "those under 50 who had parents wealthy enough to purchase a home and leave an inheritance you can suck off of."

That might have fit better.

I love it when people who grew up without concern for money talk down to other people about how simple it is to just 'live for yourself'.

I was so poor growing up that I lived in a tent, on a river for an entire year when I was 14. My Dad is a deadbeat and my mom is disabled and was left with nothing.

So, maybe this advice will work for my children - given that I've done much better than my parents - but the story you just wrote is ridiculous and comes from a very selective background, which is not actually the norm anymore.

Jeez.

Maybe you just ran out of things to talk about?
