That's not ENTIRELY accurate, though. Just because a man (or really, anyone) yells and breaks things does NOT mean its intent was to scare the other person or to foreshadow a "this broken vase may be your face."

What yelling and breaking things means is that the person who is yelling and breaking things is taking anger out in an unconstructive way, probably out of an inability to vent in a mature way.

Women do this all the time as well - are you suggesting that when women scream and break things that it's meant as a threat? Do you believe that when women do that, they are trying to "stop you from doing the things that bring it on"?

Of course it isn't - it's an immature way of venting and the majority of the time it has no underlying meaning other than the person is really upset and doesn't know how to, or cannot in that moment, cope with that stressor.

That isn't to say that some men and women aren't doing it to scare the other person, but those are exceptions and not the rule.
