"the traditional masculine roles imposed by our culture"

Umm, don't you mean that nature imposed on boys and men? Surely that's what you meant, because society did not create masculinity - it merely defined a biological adaptation of the male gender of humans.

Men are built to protect women and children from danger, and built to put themselves in dangerous circumstances to provide food, shelter, etc. to women and children.

These are our biological roles.

Sure, there is a spectrum of masculinity and femininity that is shared between both sexes, but the masculine traits are a biological adaptation, not a social adaptation.

I'd also like to point out to you that women beat men almost as much as men beat women, so let's not go down the road of "which gender is 'x' or 'y' " because BOTH genders are equally heinous in all aspects of life.

This is a societal problem we're facing because biological roles are no longer social norms and it throws a wrench into everything.

Women still expect men to "protect and save them" while never bothering to appreciate what men do to protect the community. Obviously, women now are serving in these roles also, but it will never be a point where women are protectors of men and children because our bodies are just made differently, and for this reason alone.

"this idea of 'toxic femininity' " is epitomized in your response, though I know you aren't going to appreciate that - it's a fact.

Stop using men as your shield, push for women to be added to the draft, push women to share an equal burden in dirty, tough, back-breaking jobs like garbage men, miners, fire fighters, etc. -- once you do these things, then let's talk.

Until then, all you're doing is blaming men for your own shortcomings.

Men do plenty of blaming themselves for men's shortcomings - we don't need you blaming us too.
