"when they no longer serve us" is why you will struggle with a relationship to begin with.
That's called selfishness and that you think it's okay to view a relationship as being there to SERVE you says volumes.
You also failed to acknowledge that the author also screwed up and it wasn't just her husband who was at issue, but her as well.
Cheating is no worse than someone refusing to communicate with their spouse, which she did. Cheating is no worse than shutting someone out from their life while trying to maintain the façade of a relationship.
The author was equally at fault here and that was her point.
Also, if you view a relationship as a thing to 'serve you,' then you should stay out of them.
